Five9 is seeking a Platform Engineering & Infrastructure Manager based in Porto, Portugal to lead the Portugal team responsible for private cloud and platform services. You will drive reliability, modernization, and collaboration across global infrastructure groups while staying close to production operations.

The role demands hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to mentor engineers toward automated, scalable platform practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, infra operations, DevOps, or related environments.
• Experience leading technical teams and developing engineers toward higher capability.
• Hands-on knowledge of Linux, compute, virtualization, storage, and private cloud infra including OpenStack or equivalent.
• IaC and CI/CD practices using Terraform, Ansible, Git, Jenkins, GitLab or similar.
• Containerization with Kubernetes platforms like Rancher, OpenShift, or upstream Kubernetes.
• Observability, incident management, SRE practices, and 24x7 operations experience.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional coordination.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide operational leadership for Portugal-based Platform Engineering & Infrastructure team.
• Coordinate across compute, storage, virtualization, Kubernetes, and private cloud environments.
• Lead incident response, change management, on-call health, and reliability improvements.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code, automation, CI/CD tooling, and observability initiatives.
• Own core platform services including compute, storage, Kubernetes, and identity services.
• Collaborate with global teams to align events handling and post-incident root cause analyses.
• Mentor engineers, support career development, and build local engineering capability.
• Maintain strong communication and stakeholder alignment during severe incidents.
