HumanIT Digital Consulting is seeking a Platform Engineer (Kubernetes/CI-CD) to join a hybrid team in Porto. You will build and operate the internal developer platform, owning CI/CD tooling, environments, and observability to scale developer experience.

You will collaborate with SRE and product teams to define platform standards and improve deployment patterns while maintaining strong engineering practices and async communication across locations.

Qualificações

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering, SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Strong Linux fundamentals and confidence on the command line.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production - workloads, networking, RBAC, observability, and troubleshooting.
• Scripting in Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD systems (ideally GitLab CI/CD) and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS, firewalls).
• A pragmatic operational mindset - self-service over tickets, toil as a bug.
• Strong written and verbal communication, comfortable working asynchronously across teams and locations.
• Fluent English.

Responsabilidades

• Build, evolve, and operate the internal developer platform (IDP) and golden-path tooling end-to-end.
• Improve developer experience by removing friction - faster pipelines, better local dev, clearer self-service.
• Define and enforce platform standards such as SLOs, toil budgets, security baselines, and quality gates.
• Partner with product engineering teams to turn pain points into platform capabilities, writing design documents.
• Collaborate with SRE on reliability contracts, incident response, and on-call handoffs.
• Contribute to the team's roadmap and design documents.

Platform Engineer (Kubernetes/CI-CD) - Hybrid Porto (3 days/week office)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Join the platform team of a major Belgian telecom operator, building and operating the internal developer platform that product engineering relies on every day. With 2 openings, this is a chance to shape golden-path tooling, Kubernetes-based infrastructure, and developer experience at scale, with real ownership from design through production support.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You will build, evolve, and operate the internal developer platform (IDP) and golden-path tooling, owning parts of CI/CD, environments, observability, and deployment tooling end-to-end. You'll improve developer experience by removing friction - faster pipelines, better local dev, clearer self-service - and contribute to the Kubernetes-based runtime covering deployment patterns, service templates, networking, identity, observability, and capacity. You'll partner with SRE on reliability contracts, incident response, and on-call handoffs, define and enforce platform standards such as SLOs, toil budgets, security baselines, and quality gates, and pair with product engineering teams to turn their pain points into platform capabilities, writing design documents and contributing to the team's roadmap.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering, SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering, including time operating production systems
• Strong Linux fundamentals and confidence on the command line
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production - workloads, networking, RBAC, observability, and troubleshooting
• Solid scripting and automation skills in at least one major language (Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar)
• Working knowledge of CI/CD systems (ideally GitLab CI/CD) and infrastructure-as-code tooling
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS, firewalls, reverse proxies)
• A pragmatic operational mindset - measuring what you improve, preferring self-service to ticket queues, and treating toil as a bug
• Strong written and verbal communication, comfortable working asynchronously across teams and locations
• Fluent English

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

• Experience contributing to or operating a multi-tenant cloud platform
• Portuguese, French, or Dutch language skills
• Experience partnering with SRE on reliability contracts and incident response in a large-scale environment
