Job summary

BGBx Consulting is seeking a Mid-Level API Engineer to design and evolve a shared API platform used across products. You will focus on reusable platform capabilities, security, and scalable data access, rather than a single application's backend.

You’ll work with application and product teams to translate requirements into robust platform capabilities and help define API standards for contracts, versioning, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience building production APIs and backend services.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript and REST/GraphQL.
• Experience designing APIs used by multiple applications.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Knowledge of authentication/authorization in production.
• Experience with cloud, CI/CD, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Design and build reusable APIs for multiple products.
• Develop backend services and platform capabilities.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization.
