We are looking for an experienced API Governance Architect to strengthen an API Architecture team focused on bringing consistency, value, and security to the full lifecycle of APIs. As API ecosystems scale rapidly, this role is key to industrializing governance processes and ensuring alignment with enterprise-level architectural standards.

This is a senior technical role requiring strong expertise in API design, governance frameworks, and secure integration practices across complex organizational landscapes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure API lifecycle management aligns with the organization’s governance framework and quality standards.
• Review API specifications for compliance with internal design guidelines and OpenAPI standards.
• Evaluate API security models and propose mitigation strategies to ensure compliance and resilience.
• Facilitate the coordination and integration of APIs across different projects and domains.
• Contribute to the industrialization of API lifecycle processes by establishing reusable frameworks, templates, and tooling.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience working with APIs, with hands-on involvement in both design and implementation.
• 2+ years of experience in API design using OpenAPI (OAS), including security models and API management platforms.
• 1+ year of experience specifically in API Governance and lifecycle industrialization in a large-scale enterprise context.
• Strong knowledge of: OAS v3 / v3.1, Swagger 2, WSDL, JSON Schema
• OAuth2, OIDC, mTLS (RFC8705), FAPI, TLS/SSL
• JSON and XML data formats
• Experience with API design tools, specification linters, and Developer Portals.
• Familiarity with major API Management platforms such as WSO2, Apigee, or similar.
