Job summary

Syone is seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer in Porto to join a project in the banking sector. You will provide L2/L3 production support, investigate incidents, and optimize PL/SQL/SQL queries while ensuring system stability and availability.

Applicants should have 3+ years in production support, strong Oracle PL/SQL skills, Linux/Unix experience, and familiarity with ITIL processes. English at least B2 is required; banking domain experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Application/Production Support.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL and SQL.
• Good knowledge of Oracle databases.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and Shell scripting.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
• Experience with monitoring and ticketing tools.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes.
• Experience with CI/CD and deployment tools is a plus.
• Experience in the banking/financial sector is a plus.
• English B2 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 application support in production environments.
• Investigate and resolve incidents, problems, and service requests.
• Analyze and troubleshoot application and database issues using PL/SQL and SQL.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize PL/SQL queries, procedures, functions, and scripts.
• Monitor application performance and ensure stability and availability.
• Support application deployments, releases, and production changes.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, database, and business teams.
• Automate recurring support and operational tasks.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
