Job summary

SBM Offshore N.V. is seeking an experienced Operations Technical Authority to own regional safety and SECE performance standards within their discipline.

The role requires global best-practice application and daily collaboration with the Operations Risk Team and on-site leaders. You will travel to multiple units annually, provide independent technical guidance, and oversee MAH risk management, barrier health, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in the discipline you are an authority for.
• Minimum 10 years in technical or engineering roles with ≥5 years in operations.
• Strong knowledge of safety, environment, and MAH risk management.

Responsibilities

• Travel to all units within scope at least twice a year to maintain connection with front-line operations.
• Provide independent technical advice to regional personnel to support operational decisions.
• Act as the technical liaison between discipline, Operations Risk Team, and subject-matter experts.
• Contribute to local SBM initiatives to enhance safety and operational excellence.
• Participate in MAH risk management and ensure alignment with company standards.
• Review and endorse Execute Phase Assurance Reports for new units.
• Approve updates to EMS and SECE tag lists as requested by Reliability Leads.
• Monitor KPIs for barrier health and escalate concerns to Operations Management.
• Oversee MAH Risk Assessment and Safety Case Reviews for Brownfield or Life-Extension projects.
