Job summary

Bridge351 is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to join a healthcare project. You will manage Oracle DBs (11g+ to 19c), ensuring availability, performance, security and smooth upgrades in a 100% remote role.

Based in Portugal, you will work with on-prem and cloud environments, perform RMAN backups, RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and data migrations, while supporting dev teams and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience.
• Strong knowledge of RMAN, RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
• Experience with data migrations and version upgrades.
• Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL.
• English level B2 or higher.
• Experience in mission-critical, high-availability environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle databases in on-premises and cloud environments.
• Monitor performance to ensure high availability and stability.
• Analyze performance and tune SQL/PL/SQL (AWR/ASH/ADDM).
• Implement backup and recovery strategies with RMAN and test DR plans.
• Administer Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
• Plan data migrations and version upgrades.
• Support development teams to optimize SQL/PL/SQL.
• Apply security best practices for users and privileges.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Support production environments and handle critical incidents.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Oracle DBA to join a project in the healthcare sector. The focus is on Performance & Tuning, Backup & Recovery, Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard and data migration. You will be responsible for the administration, availability, performance, security and evolution of Oracle Database platforms in mission‑critical, high‑availability environments.

What you'll do

• Administer, maintain and support Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c and above) in on‑premises and/or cloud environments
• Monitor databases proactively, ensuring high availability, performance and stability
• Analyse performance and carry out SQL and PL/SQL tuning (AWR, ASH, ADDM, statistics, execution plans)
• Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies (RMAN), including regular restore tests and Disaster Recovery plans
• Administer and troubleshoot Oracle RAC environments
• Manage ASM (Automatic Storage Management)
• Configure and maintain Oracle Data Guard (physical/logical standby, switchover, failover)
• Plan and execute data migrations and version upgrades
• Support development teams in optimising SQL and PL/SQL code
• Apply security best practices, including user, role and privilege management
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
• Support production environments, including handling critical incidents

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of proven experience as an Oracle DBA
• Strong knowledge of:

• Experience in mission‑critical, high‑availability environments
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems

• English level B2 or higher
