Job summary

SBM Offshore N.V. is seeking a senior Quality professional to lead the Company's Management System across FPSO projects and operations.

The role focuses on maintaining ISO 9001 and ISM Code certifications, driving quality improvements, and coordinating assurance activities across offshore and onshore teams. You will oversee governance of processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with Clients, Partners, and Certification Bodies to sustain high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree preferred in naval or marine engineering.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification is a plus.
• 10+ years of FPSO/project/operations experience across lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Acquire and maintain knowledge of SBM's Management System and processes.
• Support Operations Management in certification requirements and sustainable compliance.
• Plan and conduct internal assurance activities to identify gaps in systems and performance.
• Investigate findings, perform root-cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure quality events are reported and investigated appropriately.
• Coordinate assurance activities with other Operations disciplines.
• Coordinate Management Reviews from offshore to onshore senior Management.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and drive changes via Operations Excellence.
• Plan external assurance activities (e.g., audits) and represent the company.
• Maintain certification of operations against ISO 9001 and ISM Code, and compliance with ISO 14001/45001.

Purpose

• You ensure that Company operations (including readiness to Operate) within your assigned scope are performed in line with the Company Quality Policy, Management System and applicable Industry Standards.
• You foster a Quality culture based on continuously improving ways‑of‑working, maximizing effectiveness, efficiency and business sustainability as a result.

Education

• Engineering degree - Naval or Marine Engineering is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Qualified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor – plus, but not mandatory.

Experience

• At least 10 years of experience in FPSO projects and/or operations, ideally in multiple roles across lifecycle phases and across departments.
• International career is a plus.

Responsibilities

• You acquire and maintain a robust knowledge of the Company’s Management System and its processes.
• You support Operations Management teams in understanding certification requirements and ensuring sustainable compliance.
• You plan and conduct internal assurance activities to identify gaps in system implementation and business performance.
• You investigate findings, perform root‑cause analyses, and identify corrective actions.
• You ensure quality events are reported and investigated appropriately.
• You ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
• You conduct risk assessments to identify potential quality issues and implement mitigations.
• You coordinate and facilitate assurance activities conducted by other Operations disciplines.
• You coordinate and facilitate Management Reviews, consolidating them from offshore to onshore senior Management.
• You identify opportunities for improvement and initiate changes through relevant processes, in coordination with Operations Excellence.
• You plan and/or facilitate external assurance activities (e.g., certification audits) and represent the Company during these processes.
• You ensure the continuous certification of operations against ISO 9001 and ISM Code standards (and compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001).
• You maintain an effective interface with relevant Certification Bodies.
• You maintain effective communication with Clients, Partners, and other stakeholders, ensuring documentation bridges management systems.
• You ensure that quality registers and records are kept up‑to‑date.
• You collaborate with IT/IS and Digital Solutions teams to ensure digital tools are fit‑for‑purpose.
• You act as the ‘Ambassador’ of the Quality and Excellence functions and ‘Champion’ of the Company’s Management System (GEMS).
• You ensure accurate reports for internal and external communication.
• If assigned, you manage a team of Quality Professionals to support these goals.
• You communicate effectively and collaborate with all stakeholders to achieve results.
• You may also act as Regulatory Manager if assigned.
