Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Chemical Analyst / Onsite Specialist I to support day‑to‑day laboratory operations on‑site at Recipharm in Queluz de Baixo, near Lisbon. The role emphasizes smooth workflows, quality and safety compliance, and close collaboration with the customer.

You will perform routine testing (HPLC/GC as applicable), manage lab consumables and utilities, document data, and communicate updates and service metrics to internal teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
• 3–5 years of laboratory, QC, or regulated operations experience.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or manufacturing-adjacent labs is a plus.
• Familiarity with lab consumables, utilities and equipment.
• Experience with HPLC and/or GC is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a customer-facing, on-site role.

Responsibilities

• Support daily laboratory operations at the Recipharm site in Queluz de Baixo.
• Minimize workflow interruptions through operational support.
• Perform routine chemical or biological testing and QC sampling.
• Conduct analytical testing using chromatographic techniques (HPLC/GC).
• Manage lab consumables, gases, liquids, dry ice and buffers.
• Document and organize laboratory data and observations.
• Maintain accurate lab documentation and records.
• Communicate updates and service metrics to stakeholders.
• Assist with routine troubleshooting of lab issues.
