Job summary

Fyld is seeking a Node.js Developer to join our Porto-based team. This role focuses on backend development, building scalable, high-quality applications, and integrating RESTful APIs in a consulting environment.

Ideal candidates will have strong Node.js/TypeScript skills, experience with Express/NestJS/Fastify, relational and NoSQL databases, and a solid understanding of DevOps and containerization with Docker. English fluency and good collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
• Proven professional experience as a Node.js Developer, Backend Developer or similar role.
• Strong experience with Node.js and server-side JavaScript/TypeScript development.
• Solid knowledge of TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
• Experience with Node.js frameworks such as Express, NestJS, Fastify or similar.
• Experience designing, developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures.
• Experience working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar.
• Knowledge of SQL, data modelling and database optimisation.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, is valued.
• Experience with Git and modern version control practices.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests, using frameworks such as Jest or equivalent.
• Understanding of API security and web application security best practices.
• Experience with application deployment and modern DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerised applications.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluency in English.
