Enhesa is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Lisbon, Portugal, to bridge the gap between architecture and rapid AI-driven delivery. You will own microservices and APIs end-to-end, lead software quality standards, and mentor engineers in a 100-person organization.

Lead AI-enabled development by leveraging Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor, and drive integration of LLM capabilities like RAG into scalable services. A strong background in Python and compiled languages is essential.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python skills and experience with a compiled language (C#/.NET, Go, or Rust).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, gRPC, and event-driven patterns.

Responsabilidades

• End-to-End Engineering (60%): ownership of microservices and APIs from data modeling to deployment and monitoring.
• Technical Leadership (40%): set standards for code quality and repository structure; mentor engineers across ~100-person organization.
• AI-Assisted Development: benchmark using tools like Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor to accelerate delivery.

The Role: Staff Software Engineer

This role functions as a strategic hybrid of a Technical Architect and a High-Velocity Builder. Rather than acting as a mere implementer, you will serve as a proactive stakeholder expected to translate conceptual "napkin sketches" into robust, production-grade AI deployments

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Engineering (60%): Maintain full lifecycle ownership of microservices and APIs, spanning from initial data modeling to deployment and operational monitoring
• Technical Leadership (40%): Establish rigorous standards for code quality and repository structure while mentoring both junior and senior engineers across a 100-person organization
• AI-Assisted Development: Serve as a benchmark for the department by leveraging advanced tools like Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor to accelerate delivery
• AI Capability Integration: Lead the seamless integration of LLM features and machine learning architectures, such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), into production-scale services

Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science
• Experience: 10+ years in software engineering
• Technical Stack: Strong Python skills plus experience in a compiled language (C#/.NET, Go, or Rust)
• Cloud Infrastructure: Production experience with Azure (AKS/Kubernetes), AWS, or GCP
• Core Skills: Expert knowledge of RESTful APIs, gRPC, and event-driven patterns
• Soft Skills: Proactive, pragmatic regarding business value, and a fundamental ability to translate complex tech into actionable insights for stakeholders
