Gazelle Wind Power is seeking a Naval Architect to lead hydrodynamic modelling, stability analysis, and mooring optimization for floating offshore wind platforms. You will collaborate with structural, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure reliable platform performance under environmental conditions and integrate new solutions into FOWT designs.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or related field.
  • ≈5 years of experience in naval architecture or offshore engineering.
  • Experience with hydrodynamics, stability analysis, and mooring design.
  • Proficiency in design software and programming (Python/MATLAB).
  • Familiarity with DNV/ABS standards.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform hydrodynamic and stability modelling for FOWT platforms.
  • Design and optimize mooring and platform configurations.
  • Collaborate with structural and manufacturing teams.
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor interfaces.
  • Review calculations for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide technical support during engineering, construction, and installation.
  • Stay updated on offshore wind technologies and best practices.

Naval Architect – Hydrodynamics / Moorings

Company Introduction: Gazelle Wind Power is an innovative offshore engineering company developing next-generation floating wind platforms designed to accelerate the global energy transition.

Overview

The Naval Architect is responsible for lightship design, hydrodynamic modelling, and mooring system optimization for floating offshore wind (FOWT) platforms. The goal is to ensure reliable and efficient platform performance across environmental conditions and to integrate solutions into Gazelle’s FOWT designs.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or similar.
  • Around 5 years of experience in naval architecture or offshore engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of design software (Autodesk, Rhino), stability tools, and MS Office.
  • Proficiency in Python and MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with DNV or ABS standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in stability and hydrodynamic analysis (ANSYS AQWA, WAMIT).
  • Background in shipbuilding and flat-panel stiffened structures.
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Clear communicator, collaborative, and proactive.
  • Familiarity with offshore regulatory and classification requirements.
  • Project management awareness and cross‑disciplinary coordination.
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese.
