The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is seeking an Assistant Museography Technician to support the correct handling, installation and maintenance of art works in the collection stores and exhibitions, ensuring safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include organizing the collection stores, preparing works for loan and display, and assisting curators with movement and location of artworks. A degree in Fine Arts or related fields is required, with 2–3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Fine Arts, Sculpture, Product Design, Museography, Conservation or related fields.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in similar roles;

Responsabilités

• Handle and move artworks according to safety standards and procedures.
• Organise and maintain Collection Stores for accessibility and safe storage.
• Implement preventive conservation schedules and order needed supplies.
• Assist curators and researchers with movement and location of works.
• Prepare artworks for loan with proper packing and transport safety.
• Prepare artworks for display, ensuring safe packing and handling per best practices.
• Identify materials for installation of temporary exhibitions and construct display supports.
• Receive, store and identify new acquisitions for the Collection.
