Variacode, Lisbon-based, is hiring a Mid Level Founding Mobile Engineer to build the mobile surface for health data apps. You will ship high-performance iOS/Android features and leverage AI-accelerated workflows, partnering with Product, Design, and Backend teams.

As a founding team member, you will influence product direction, receive meaningful equity, and work in a fast-paced on-site Lisbon setup with global Fortune-500 clients in the pipeline.

Qualificações

• 3–5 years of mobile-focused software development with a track record shipping to App Store and Google Play.
• Strong problem-solving and performance tuning skills; capable of AI-augmented development.
• Fluent English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Build and ship features for the primary mobile application on iOS and Android.
• Engineer and refine prompts using AI tools to generate, debug, and optimize code.
• Develop scalable, maintainable systems by curating AI-generated outputs.
• Ensure high-quality code, test coverage, and performance across the mobile experience.

The Role

Develop the mobile surface, acting as a primary bridge between people and their daily health data. You will leverage prompt-driven, AI-accelerated workflows to ship a highly performant iOS and Android app that blends technical excellence with creative execution.

What you will do (Responsibilities):

• Build and ship features for the primary mobile application for iOS and Android, blending speed, creativity, and precision.
• Engineer and refine prompts using AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf) to generate, debug, and optimize code efficiently.
• Develop scalable and maintainable systems by thoughtfully curating AI-generated outputs.
• Ensure top-tier code quality, comprehensive test coverage, and high performance across the mobile experience.
• Support seamless app releases on the App Store and Google Play while contributing to robust mobile CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Backend teams to refine UI/UX and pay down technical debt.

What we are looking for:Must-haves (Required):

• Experience:P2 / Mid-Level intermediate (~3-5 years) in software development with a strong mobile focus and a track record of shipping to the App Store and Google Play.
• Key Skills:Strong problem-solving, performance tuning, and the ability to drive AI-augmented development.
• Language:Fluent English proficiency (* inferred for US-focused startup/Lisbon-based team).

Nice-to-haves (Pluses):

• Bachelor's in CS or Engineering, knowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and CI/CD pipelines.
