A Ytech procura um(a) Engenheiro(a) de IA/ML Júnior a Médio para integrar uma equipa focada em produtos potentes de IA. Irá trabalhar em desafios práticos de ML envolvendo processamento de documentos e e-mails, NLP, modelos de linguagem grandes, treino e fine-tuning, agentes de IA e desempenho de inferência.

Vai colaborar de perto com um Engenheiro Sênior de IA e a equipa de Engenharia, testando abordagens, avaliando resultados e transformando ideias promissoras em recursos fiáveis do produto.

Qualificações

• 1 a 4 anos de experiência profissional em Inteligência Artificial, Aprendizagem de Máquina, NLP ou área relacionada.
• Forte domínio de Python e experiência a escrever código sustentável e testável.
• Experiência prática com PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers ou frameworks similares.
• Bom entendimento de treino, fine-tuning, validação e avaliação de modelos.
• Experiência prática em pelo menos um dos: NLP/modelos baseados em transformer, aplicações de LLM, extração de informação ou classificação de documentos, embeddings/recuperação semântica, agentes de IA ou frameworks de chamadas a ferramentas.
• Capacidade de preparar datasets e construir pipelines de treino, fine-tuning e avaliação.
• Capacidade de desenhar experiments, comparar abordagens e entender por que uma solução funciona (ou não).
• Experiência com Git, debugging, testing e workflows básicos de Docker.
• Raciocínio analítico, comunicação e resolução de problemas.
• Capacidade de documentar trabalho técnico e comunicar resultados claramente.
• Fluência em Inglês, escrito e falado.

Responsabilidades

• Preparar datasets e construir pipelines de treino, fine-tuning e avaliação.
• Treinar, ajustar, testar e melhorar modelos de NLP e linguagem.
• Trabalhar com modelos de transformer, embeddings, classificação, extração de informação e sistemas de processamento de documentos.
• Construir provas de conceito e avaliar várias abordagens para problemas de IA complexos.
• Experimentar com AI Agents, fluxos de chamadas a ferramentas e ciclos de agentes.
• Medir e melhorar qualidade do modelo, confiabilidade do agente, latência e custo.
• Investigar comportamento de modelos, resultados de avaliação e questões de treino; integrar pipelines em serviços de produção.
• Colaborar com o Engenheiro de AI Sênior e a equipa de Engenharia de Software.
• Contribuir para documentação técnica e comunicar achados claramente.
• Interagir ocasionalmente com clientes para entender problemas reais e melhorar o produto.

What challenge do we have for you?

Experience level: 1 to 4 years

We are looking for a Junior to Mid-Level AI / Machine Learning Engineer to join a team focused on building and improving AI-powered products.

You will work on practical Machine Learning challenges involving document and email processing, NLP, Large Language Models, model training and fine-tuning, AI Agents, and inference performance.

You will work closely with a Senior AI Engineer and the Software Engineering team, experimenting with different approaches, evaluating results, and turning promising ideas into reliable product features.

What we value in you:

• 1 to 4 years of professional experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, NLP, or a closely related engineering role.
• Strong Python skills and experience writing maintainable and testable code.
• Practical experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, or similar Machine Learning frameworks.
• Good understanding of model training, fine-tuning, validation, and evaluation.
• Hands-on experience with at least one of the following:
• NLP or transformer-based models;
  
• LLM applications;
  
• Information extraction or document classification;
  
• Embeddings, semantic search, or retrieval;
  
• AI Agents or tool-calling systems.
• Ability to prepare datasets and build training, fine-tuning, and evaluation pipelines.
• Ability to design experiments, compare different approaches, and understand why a solution is or is not working.
• Experience with Git, debugging, testing, and basic Docker workflows.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to clearly document technical work and communicate findings.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have:

• Experience with LLM fine-tuning using LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT, or Supervised Fine-Tuning.
• Experience building evaluation datasets, benchmarks, regression tests, or LLM-as-a-Judge workflows.
• Familiarity with RAG, vector search, reranking, or hybrid search.
• Experience with AI Agent frameworks such as LangGraph or similar orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with experiment tracking and observability tools such as MLflow, Weights & Biases, or Langfuse.
• Experience improving inference latency, throughput, reliability, or cost.
• Experience deploying models through APIs or cloud services.
• Familiarity with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, or Elasticsearch.
• Open-source contributions, relevant side projects, research, or active participation in the AI/ML community.
• Previous experience in a product, consulting, or client-facing environment.
• Dutch is considered a plus.

What will you be doing?

• Prepare datasets and build training, fine-tuning, and evaluation pipelines.

• Collaborate closely with the Senior AI Engineer and Software Engineering team.
• Contribute to technical documentation and communicate findings clearly.
• Occasionally interact with customers to better understand real-world problems and improve the product.
