Coloplast Manufacturing Portugal in Portugal is seeking a Microbiologist Specialist to join our team in Felgueiras. You will help ensure production environments meet quality standards essential for safe products used by our users.

You will support the microbiology lab, oversee equipment and assays, and help maintain compliance with MDSAP and internal standards. The role includes training responsibilities and periodic travel for site visits and onboarding.

Qualificações

• Academic background in Microbiology (B.Sc. or higher).
• Minimum 2 years in accredited laboratories; medical devices exp. a plus.
• Fluent in English; other languages a plus.

Here you will play a key role in ensuring the production environment complies with production standards we aim to follow and thereby ensuring the safety of our users.

Your Responsibilities:

• Manage quality processes in cleanroom production and support in the cleanroom validation activities.
• Support the microbiological laboratory, supervise equipment and perform microbiological assays.
• Ensure compliance with MDSAP and internal standards.
• Collaborate with HR to train employees and external staff.
• Investigate non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare quality documentation and reports.
• Participate in internal audits.

Your Qualifications:

• Academic background:A relevant academic background in Microbiology or similar (B.Sc. or higher).
• Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in accredited laboratories or similar (experience in the medical devices industry is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques and procedures.
• Basic computer skills.
• Language Proficiency:Fluent in spoken and written English (other languages are a plus).

Other:

• Workplace will be Felgueiras in Portugal
• During the first year regular visits for training and introductions at our sites in Hungary and/or Denmark may be needed.
• The travel program will be defined together with the manager.
