Siemens Energy in Lisbon is seeking a Market Application Specialist for Data Center Solutions to shape substation concepts for Europe and Africa from early sales stages. You will work with Sales and customers as the technical counterpart to translate market and application needs into competitive concepts and define the electrical concept and scope.

You will coordinate with engineering teams and factories to ensure the solution is technically sound and ready for costing and proposals.

Qualificações

• A degree in electrical engineering or a related field with relevant professional experience.
• Knowledge of single line diagrams, substation layouts, equipment selection, and electrical calculations.
• Experience with Data Center projects or critical infrastructure development is beneficial.
• Ability to clearly explain and defend complex technical decisions in customer discussions.
• Strong collaboration in international, multidisciplinary environments.

Responsabilidades

• Clarify customer requirements, project drivers, specifications, site conditions, and decision criteria with Sales.
• Independently define the substation concept, including the single line diagram, layout, voltage levels, key equipment, interfaces, assumptions, and technical scope.
• Select and specify the main electrical equipment while developing the technical documentation for costing and proposals.
• Validate the complete solution against customer needs, applicable standards, portfolio capabilities, technical risks, and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate specialist input from engineering teams and factories while retaining technical ownership of the integrated solution.
• Present and defend the technical concept in customer discussions and hand over the design basis, scope, and open points to execution.

• Clarify customer requirements, project drivers, specifications, site conditions, and decision criteria in collaboration with Sales.


• Independently define the substation concept, including the single line diagram, layout, voltage levels, key equipment, interfaces, assumptions, and technical scope.


• Select and specify the main electrical equipment while developing the technical documentation necessary for customer alignment, costing, and proposal preparation.


• Validate the complete solution against customer needs, applicable standards, portfolio capabilities, technical risks, and delivery requirements.


• Coordinate specialist input from engineering teams and factories while retaining technical ownership of the integrated solution.


• Ensure internal process readiness across opportunity development, technical clarification, costing input, risk clarification, proposal documentation, governance support, and handover preparation.


• Present and defend the technical concept in customer discussions, handing over the agreed design basis, scope, and open points to the execution organization.

What You Bring

• A degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or a comparable engineering field, combined with relevant professional experience.


• Sound knowledge of single line diagrams, substation layouts, equipment selection, technical specifications, electrical calculations, and applicable standards.


• Experience with Data Center projects, customer requirements, or the technical development of critical infrastructure solutions is highly beneficial.


• The ability to explain and defend complex technical decisions clearly in customer discussions.


• Strong collaboration skills in international and multidisciplinary environments.


• High ownership, a structured working style, and confidence in independently resolving technical challenges.


• Fluent English skills are required; additional regional languages are considered an advantage.
