Qualificações

  • Capacidade de trabalhar em ambientes externos – oceano aberto.
  • Experiência em engenharia de operações marítimas e instalação subsea.

Role

We are now looking for a person with practical hands-on experience from marine operations and field testing of industrial machinery to help our ocean testing activities in Portugal. This role is based in our Portuguese entity in Viana do Castelo where you will work with onshore and offshore operations for the installation of CorPower wave farms.

Responsibilities

  • Support offshore installations
  • Lead a variety of hands-on local marine and logistics operations: marine vessel movement, equipment, administrative work, mooring patterns, etc.
  • Coordinating all offshore activities at the project location, including environmental campaigns and third-party companies.
  • Review and provide feedback on designs, technical reports, and specifications from engineers, modelers, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain and update marine field instructions, including submarine cables layup and retrieval, anchoring charts, mooring plans/arrangements for vessel operations, and record of all marine activities in the field.
  • Support procurement and maintenance of material and equipment used for on-land and offshore operations.
  • Coordinate with other internal departments (design, project, etc) to ensure preparation of procedures.
  • Support and verify the readiness and HSE compliance level of each vessel and personnel before any offshore marine operation.
  • Responsible for maritime licenses and the maintenance of offshore equipment at project locations.
  • Perform assorted job-related duties, as assigned.
  • Support assembly and on-land testing of Wave Energy Converters (transportation and installation included)

Skills And Qualifications

  • Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electric engineering degree with at least 3-year experience in Marine environment, electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control systems. Or equivalent proved relevant industrial / offshore engineering experience.
  • Specialized training or certification in marine operations or offshore engineering will be a plus.
  • Experience of Site (yards), offshore survey and offshore installation of subsea cables, monopiles and subsea structures.
  • Combined knowledge of vessels and equipment and experience on activities involved in marine operations engineering including writing and reviewing technical documentation, scope of works, request for quotation in compliance with industry standards.
  • Experience in deck layouts; mooring analysis (arrangements and specification); tow arrangements and bollard pull; lifting arrangements; rigging and equipment design, project specific stability analysis; sea-fastening design and motion analysis.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and understand priorities, based on project schedule.
  • Willing to work in outdoor environments – open ocean.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, work in tight spaces and to perform job tasks that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions and in small openings.
  • Proficient in English and Portuguese, both spoken and written.
