Job summary

BorgWarner invites applications for anEngineering internship in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, focused on supporting 2D/3D vision systems in production and assisting with installation and programming to improve manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree in Engineering area (valued)
• Problem solving knowledge (5W; Ishikawa; PDCA; 8D) (valued)
• Knowledge of quality tools
• Knowledge of standard IATF 16949 (preferred)
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (valued)
• Knowledge of line production environment in the automobile industry (valued)
• IT user skills
• English skills (valued)
• Proficiency level of Portuguese
• Eligibility for a professional Internship by Portuguese law

Responsibilities

• Support in the installation of artificial visual equipment for manufacturing process in production area.
• Support programming of artificial visual equipment for manufacturing process.
• Support and train operations and technicians in artificial visual equipment for their role.
• Support in new manufacturing process development and implementation.
• Collaborate in development of quality and support documentation to production processes.
• Support definition of production layout.
• Prepare support documentation with testing results and Quality documentation for new products.
• Assist in continuous improvement process.
• Support Maintenance Management Tools (Preventive / Predictive).
• Support development of machine specifications.
• Respect safety and cleanliness rules of the workplace.
• Comply with safety standards, quality, productivity and hygiene.
• Participate in continuous environmental system management improvements.
• Comply with organizational rules and Ethics Code.
• Perform other tasks as needed for service continuity.

Internship purpose

Support in the 2D/3D vision system equipment in production area, in the tasks of installing in production, as well as programming the equipment. Also support the continuous improvement activities in production area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support in the installation of artificial visual equipment for manufacturing process.
• Support the programming the artificial visual equipment for manufacturing process.
• Support and train the operations and technicians in the artificial visual equipment for their role
• Support in the new manufacturing process development and implementation
• Collaborate in the development of quality and support documentation to production processes
• Support the definition of production layout
• Prepare support documentation with the results of the testing phase and Quality documentation for new products
• Assist in continuous improvement process
• Support the Maintenance Management Tools (Preventive / Predictive)
• Support the development of the machines specifications
• Respect the safety and cleanliness rules of the workplace
• Comply with safety standards, quality, productivity and hygiene
• Participate actively in the continuous improvement of the environmental system management
• Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations such as Ethics Code
• Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which he was hired, when needs or service convenience warranted for a period of time defined as necessary
