Overview

Malware Analyst - Web Browser Vulnerabilities — English Required / Based in Lisbon, Portugal / Hybrid

What will be your challenge and goal?

• Analyze the Chrome extension code by doing extensive Code Reverse Engineering and identifying any potential security violations in the extension – Static and Dynamic analysis
• Document the security violations identified along with the suspected code
• Take down malicious extensions from the Webstore
• Identify new patterns by analyzing the extensions and discuss with the team and update them
• Act as technical consultant to the team for any clarifications and grooming
• Create rules to identify specific patterns of security violations and run a sweep to identify items from the Webstore
• Provide additional recommendations to the client on process and automation opportunities to easily identify specific patterns

What will make you successful in this position?

• Extensive to strong development & hands-on experience with JavaScript, Advanced JavaScript, TypeScript, React JS, Angular
• Good understanding of Node.js and Webpack
• Fair cyber security experience or knowledge is an added value
• Strong code reverse engineering and debugging skills in front-end technologies - JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular
• Good experience in working with JS and knowledge of JavaScript Objects
• Extensive JavaScript concepts such as Prototypes, scope and hoisting, closures, callbacks, this, and bind methods
• OOP in JavaScript, expertise with jQuery UI and JSON
• Strong experience with Bootstrap, AJAX and AngularJS
• Obfuscation and deobfuscation knowledge is a plus
• Experience in performing DAST and SAST for web applications – vulnerability testing, security assessments and remediations
• Excellent experience in writing technical reports to document findings and suggest remediations to overcome security violations
