To join our growing team, we are looking for a Design and Technology Technician who is organised, hands-on, safety-conscious, and passionate about supporting innovative and practical learning experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the Design & Technology teacher(s) in the preparation and delivery of lessons.
  • Set up tools, equipment, and materials for practical classes and ensure workspaces are safe, tidy, and ready for use.
  • Manage stock levels, order supplies as needed, and track inventory.
  • Assist students during practical sessions.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety regulations are met.
  • Support in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of displays, teaching aids, and learning resources.
  • Stay updated on new tools, materials, and best practices in Design & Technology education.

General Maintenance Support:

  • Provide hands-on support for minor maintenance and repair tasks across the school premises.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities team to ensure the smooth daily operation of the school environment.
  • Assist in setting up furniture, equipment, or resources for school events or logistical needs.
  • Help identify and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
  • Relevant technical qualifications or experience in Design & Technology or a similar field (e.g. engineering, carpentry, electronics, or product design).
  • Strong organisational and practical skills.
  • A good understanding of tools, machines, and materials used in a school D&T setting.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety standards and a proactive approach to safe working practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Enthusiastic, hands-on, and keen to support a creative learning environment.
  • Availability for a full-time position with a combination of D&T and facilities support responsibilities.
