Job summary

Planck Technologies is seeking a Junior to Mid-level Software Developer to join a dynamic team working on core applications in a Mainframe environment. The role focuses on COBOL development, DB2 access, and batch processing with JCL, supporting ongoing maintenance and evolution.

The position requires a higher degree in CS/CE, up to 2 years of experience, and fluent Portuguese. A hybrid work model in Lisbon (Alfragide area) is offered, with opportunities to grow in cutting-edge IT projects.

Qualifications

• Higher degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field.
• Fluent in Portuguese (written and spoken).
• Up to 2 years of professional experience in software development ( internship experience valued).
• Practical knowledge of COBOL programming.
• Knowledge of relational databases, preferably DB2.
• Basic notions of JCL and batch processing routines.
• Strong learning capacity, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Great teamwork abilities and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and maintenance of software applications in an IBM Mainframe environment.
• Develop and enhance COBOL components with DB2 database access.
• Support the construction, execution, and maintenance of JCLs for batch processing.
• Perform unit testing and integration testing to ensure software quality and reliability.

Minimum experience required:

• Up to 2 years of professional experience in software development (relevant experience through curricular or professional internships is also valued).

It is mandatory that you:
