About the Role

The Tripadvisor GenAI Team is looking for an exceptional individual to design and develop the next-generation AI systems to understand our travelers and products to improve customer experience. This work will significantly enhance our ability to offer travelers the broadest, most relevant travel products. The individual will have the opportunity to lead projects related to NLP, recommendations, topic detection, and more.

Location

This position can be office-based, hybrid, or remote within Portugal.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with senior team members to design, implement, and deploy machine learning models.
• Participate in all stages of the ML development lifecycle, from data collection to deployment.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into ML solutions.
• Improve existing ML pipelines and infrastructure.
• Stay updated with the latest ML trends and technologies, sharing knowledge with the team.

Who You Are

• A machine learning engineer experienced in developing and deploying ML models.
• Solid understanding of ML concepts and hands-on experience with generative AI.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Eager to learn and grow collaboratively.
• Good communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Skills & Experience

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
• 1-3 years of ML engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Jax, spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face, LangGraph.
• Experience with generative AI models, prompt engineering, and working with LLMs and AI agents.
• Understanding of ML algorithms including deep learning and NLP.
• Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, version control, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
