Job summary

InnoWave is seeking a Junior Backend Developer based in Lisbon to join a dynamic engineering team. You will develop, test, and maintain software components under guidance from senior engineers, writing clean code and contributing to new features in alignment with technical specs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, exposure to multiple languages (.NET/Java/Python), and a focus on SDLC disciplines, testing, and documentation. Fluency in English is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Up to 3 years of software engineering experience.
• Internships or academic projects valued.
• Proficiency in at least one of .NET, Java, or Python.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and OOP.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain software applications under guidance of senior engineers.
• Write clean, readable code following established standards and best practices.
• Contribute to new features and enhancements based on specs and business needs.
• Support integration of software components, APIs, and external systems.
• Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving defects.
• Develop and execute unit tests and assist with integration testing.
• Work with databases and basic data access/manipulation operations.
• Use version control systems to manage changes and collaborate with others.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in code reviews and team discussions to improve quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
