Prime Nearshore is seeking a Senior Linux System Engineer – Big Data to join a major international banking project. You will operate, provide L3 support, automate, and continuously optimize Red Hat Linux infrastructures supporting Cloudera and Hadoop environments.

The role requires a strong background in Linux administration, automation with Python and Ansible, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting in production clusters, with collaboration across infrastructure, security, and Big Data

About the Project

• We are looking for a Senior Linux System Engineer – Big Data to join a major international project in the banking sector.
• You will be responsible for the operation, L3 support, automation, and continuous optimization of Linux Red Hat infrastructures supporting Cloudera and Hadoop environments.
• Previous Cloudera or Hadoop experience is valued but is not mandatory, as training can be provided. The main requirement is a strong background in Linux system administration, automation, and complex troubleshooting.
• Administer and maintain Red Hat Linux systems in production environments
• Provide advanced L3 support and resolve complex infrastructure incidents
• Monitor and analyse system performance, including CPU, memory, disks, and services
• Automate operational and administrative tasks using Python and Ansible
• Support the operation and optimization of Cloudera and Hadoop platforms
• Monitor and manage HDFS storage capacity and availability
• Work with distributed storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and RAID
• Support security configurations involving Kerberos and TLS
• Troubleshoot JVM and middleware-related issues
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Create and maintain technical and operational documentation
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and Big Data teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives
• Strong professional experience in Linux system administration
• Advanced knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Solid experience with troubleshooting in complex production environments
• Hands-on experience with Python and Ansible
• Good understanding of Linux performance monitoring and capacity management
• Knowledge of storage systems and distributed environments
• Experience with security mechanisms such as Kerberos and TLS
• Understanding of JVM environments and middleware troubleshooting
• Ability to provide autonomous L3 support and manage critical incidents
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have
