Renvolt, a renewable energy subsidiary of Voltalia, is seeking a qualified and experienced commercial/contracts legal advisor to join its growing team in Porto, Portugal. The Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support to construction, operations and maintenance contracts (EPC, O&M) across multiple geographies.

We value fluency in English, knowledge of common law, and experience with contract lifecycle management and AI-assisted tools.

Qualificações

  • Master’s degree in Business or International Law is required or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial or contract law.
  • Experience with EPC/O&M contracts and construction projects is preferred.

Responsabilidades

  • Provide legal analysis and drafting of national and international contracts for EPC and O&M projects.
  • Review and negotiate subcontracting, supply and consortium agreements.
  • Draft and maintain contract templates and templates for standard documents.
  • Drive digitalisation of legal operations including CLM and AI-assisted tools.
  • Mitigate legal risks and provide advice across business lines.
  • Assist in managing customer and supplier claims and disputes with external counsel.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced commercial / contracts legal advisor to join a successful and growing renewable energy business. TheLegal Counselwill provide comprehensive legal support to the Construction, Operations & Maintenance Business Lines within the Renvolt group, supporting our green energy international vision and mission.
The main responsibilities include:

  • Provide legal analysis, drafting and negotiation of national and international contracts for the construction and operation of renewable power plants (EPC, O&M);
  • Review and negotiate subcontracting, supply and consortium agreements;
  • Draft and maintain contract templates and standard legal documents;
  • Drive the digitalisation of Renvolt's legal operations, including the evaluation and deployment of a CLM solution and AI-assisted contract tools in coordination with the rest of the teams.
  • Analyse and mitigate legal and contractual risks for the company, and provide general legal advice and support across business lines;
  • Assist in managing customer and supplier claims (pre-litigation and litigation); coordinate, advice and give instructions on behalf of the company for judicial or arbitral disputes, with the support from external legal counsel;
  • Keep up to date with changes in case law, contract law, corporate law, regulations in the energy and construction sectors, and local legislation across operating geographies;
  • Ensure accurate legal advice is given and that procedures are followed per current local legislative, statutory compliance, and company/group policies;
  • Contribute to drafting internal policies and internal legal guidelines;
  • Support the Legal Manager on any ad-hoc matters as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • Master's degree in Business Law, International Law, or equivalent;
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in commercial or contract law;
  • Solid experience in project-related contracts (Construction & Maintenance / EPC);
  • Knowledge and experience providing support for contracts governed by common law (e.g. English law and/or Irish law);
  • Familiarity with AI-powered legal tools and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms is a strong asset;
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and construction law;
  • Knowledge of energy law and corporate law is a plus;
  • Experience in renewable energy or energy sector preferred;
  • English fluency is mandatory; French, Portuguese or Spanish proficiency is appreciated;
  • Available to work in Porto, Portugal.
