Job summary

HumanIT Digital Consulting is seeking a Lead iOS Engineer to own the iOS experience for our AI‑powered EdTech platform. You will combine hands‑on development with technical leadership, mentoring two engineers and guiding product decisions with the founders.

The role is fully remote within Europe, preferring Portugal/Lisbon but not required. You will ship a native iOS app using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit and Combine, manage App Store releases, and drive performance and platform conventions.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of native iOS development experience.
• Lead engineering experience with responsibility for technical direction.
• Experience mentoring engineers while remaining actively involved in development.
• Strong proficiency in Swift; practical SwiftUI and UIKit experience.
• Proven record of building and shipping consumer‑grade iOS apps.
• Familiarity with Combine, push notifications and App Store deployment.
• Experience with Xcode, XCTest, TestFlight and App Store Connect.
• Strong knowledge of iOS architecture and state management patterns.
• Experience debugging, optimizing performance and monitoring crashes.
• Ability to translate product goals into technical decisions and take ownership.
• Startup mindset: hands‑on, autonomous, pragmatic, fast‑moving, adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Own the mobile app end‑to‑end across architecture, performance and release processes.
• Set technical direction and mentor two engineers supporting mobile.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership on onboarding, growth and retention.
• Deliver a polished native experience with smooth animations and platform conventions.
• Ship features, run experiments, measure impact, and iterate quickly.
• Manage App Store releases, versioning, store optimization, and crash monitoring.
