Marley Spoon is seeking a Lead Data Scientist in Lisbon, Portugal. You will lead the design, deployment, and scaling of data science solutions, driving best practices within a collaborative team.

The role requires strong machine learning skills, expertise in Python and SQL, and confidence in communicating results across stakeholders. Benefits include a hybrid work policy and private health insurance.

Qualificações

• 6+ years in Data Science / ML, including 3+ years in a lead role.
• Strong depth in at least one: recommender systems, growth analytics, or retention modeling.
• Confidence communicating results to technical and non-technical partners.

Responsabilidades

• Design, deploy, and scale data science solutions.
• Support best practices across the data team.
• Communicate trade-offs, uncertainty, and results.

Conhecimentos

Strong SQL expertise

Advanced Python programming skills

Experience with workflow orchestration tools

Experience building production ML pipelines

Familiarity with MLOps and cloud tooling

Strong knowledge of supervised learning

Ability to research and improve ML models

Strong understanding of software engineering best practices

Experience writing clean, maintainable code

Strong communication skills

Experience mentoring teammates

Ability to translate business needs into practical solutions
