Russell Tobin is seeking a Data Scientist in Lisbon, Portugal, for a full-time freelance contract. The role combines hands-on data science with client-facing collaboration, involving travel to client sites and delivering data-driven solutions across industries.

The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary consulting environment, using Python, SQL and ML techniques to uncover insights, build models and translate findings into actionable recommendations for clients.

Qualificações

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field (CS, Engineering, Physics, Statistics or Applied Mathematics).
• Strong hands-on Python for data processing, analysis and DS development.
• Strong SQL skills for querying and data extraction from relational databases.
• Practical machine learning experience: building, training, testing and evaluating models.
• Good understanding of statistical and data-mining techniques.
• Experience working with large, complex data sets.
• Excellent communication to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Understand complex business challenges with consulting teams and translate them into data-driven solutions.
• Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, opportunities and risks.
• Develop and apply data science solutions using Python.
• Write SQL queries to extract and transform data from databases.
