ALTEN in Porto is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design and implement the Modern Data Platform on Microsoft Fabric and to build scalable data pipelines. You will lead the migration of legacy BI to Azure and collaborate with international IT teams.

The role requires 6+ years in Data Engineering, strong Azure experience, and expertise in Python, SQL and BI tools such as Power BI. A fast-growing Shared Services Center offers a dynamic, global environment.

Qualificações

• 6+ years in Data Engineering with cloud platforms (Azure).
• Fluent in English; French is a plus.
• Fabric, Power BI expert level.
• Data Architecture: Lakehouse, BI modeling, MDM.
• Programming: Python (mandatory), SQL (advanced), and one data engineering language (PySpark/Scala/.NET for Fabric).
• CI/CD & DevOps: pipeline automation best practices.

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement the Modern Data Platform on Microsoft Fabric,
• Develop scalable Lakehouse architectures and ETL/ELT pipelines,
• Lead the migration of legacy BI solutions to Azure,
• Define and enforce data governance, security, quality, and MDM standards,
• Collaborate with international business and IT teams to deliver reliable data solutions,
• Implement CI/CD and DevOps practices for data workflows,
• Serve as the technical reference for data engineering initiatives across the Group.

To support our European intensive growth, the Group has decided to build a large Shared Services Center based in Porto. In this context, we are seeking a Cloud Data Engineer to join our Shared Services Centre and support the overall ongoing Transformation Program.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Data & Analytics team. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will design and implement the Modern Data Platform on Microsoft Fabric, build scalable data pipelines, and lead the migration of legacy BI to Azure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and implement the Modern Data Platform on Microsoft Fabric,
• Develop scalable Lakehouse architectures and ETL/ELT pipelines,
• Lead the migration of legacy BI solutions to Azure,
• Define and enforce data governance, security, quality, and MDM standards,
• Collaborate with international business and IT teams to deliver reliable data solutions,
• Implement CI/CD and DevOps best practices for data workflows,
• Act as the technical reference for data engineering initiatives across the Group,

PROFILE:

• Experience: 6+ years in Data Engineering, with solid experience on cloud-based platforms (Ideally Azure),
• Fluent in English (mandatory) and French is a plus,
• Fabric,
• BI & Visualization: Power BI (expert level),
• Data Architecture: Lakehouse concepts, BI modeling, MDM,
• Programming Languages: Python (mandatory), SQL (advanced), and one data engineering language (e.g., PySpark, Scala, or .NET for Fabric),
