Job summary

Hitachi Solutions Portugal seeks a Lead Data Consultant to join the Data, Analytics & AI practice. You will deliver bespoke analytics solutions, guiding data engineering and BI projects using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, and Power BI.

You will mentor teams and help grow the Portugal presence within Hitachi's European network. You will work in a hybrid environment with a focus on client value and timely delivery, leveraging cloud-native architectures and advanced analytics to drive

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing and delivering cloud-based Data Engineering, Analytics, and AI solutions in a consulting or SI environment.
• Extensive client-facing experience with a proven track record of leading teams or projects.
• Hands-on with Python and SQL.
• Familiar with Azure Data Factory and data platform solutions like Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks.
• Expertise in Power BI, QlikView or Tableau for data visualisation.
• Strong data modelling and transformation skills, ETL/ELT and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advisory services on advanced analytics and data engineering best practices.
• Lead teams and projects from requirements to solution design and implementation.
• Capture client requirements and lead solution architectures to meet business needs.
• Design and develop Data Platform, BI and Advanced Analytics solutions leveraging cloud technologies.

We are looking for a Lead Data Consultant to join us on our exciting journey and be part of our Hitachi Solutions family.

This is a unique and challenging opportunity for an experienced Analytics Consultant to join the Data, Analytics & AI practice of Hitachi Solutions Portugal.

In this role you will be providing bespoke and cutting-edge data and advanced analytics solutions, bringing significant commercial advantage to some of Europe’s most recognised companies.

The successful candidate will draw upon their experience with data engineering and business intelligence tools and techniques to advise clients on data and analytics best practices and deliver data and analytics solutions on time and to budget.

The main areas of responsibility are:

• Provide expert advisory services to clients on advanced analytics and data engineering best practices, ensuring delivery of scalable and efficient solutions.
• Lead teams and projects, supporting all aspects of delivery from requirements gathering to solution design and implementation.
• Capture client requirements and lead the development of solution architectures that meet both current and future business needs.
• Design and develop bespoke Data Platform, Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics solutions, leveraging the latest cloud technologies.
• Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise data engineering solutions on Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks, delivering robust, secure, and scalable data products that support analytics, reporting, and AI use cases.
• Build and oversee the development of dynamic, interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, ensuring clear, actionable insights for clients.
• Guide teams in data modelling and transformation efforts, ensuring the development of optimised data architectures, including the design of ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to support their professional development.
• Actively contribute to the development of the team in Portugal, ensuring close ties to the rest of the European team.

Qualifications

We are looking to hire ambitious consulting professionals who combine their technical acumen with a genuine enthusiasm for improving organisations:

• 10+ years of experience designing and delivering cloud-based Data Engineering, Analytics, and AI solutions, ideally within a consulting or systems integration environment.
• Extensive experience in a client-facing role, previously working for a consultancy or systems integrator, with a proven track record of leading teams or projects.
• Hands-on experience with modern programming languages such as Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with data integration tools like Azure Data Factory and Data platform solutions such as Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks.
• Expertise in data visualisation and analytics using Power BI, QlikView or Tableau.
• Strong experience in data modelling and transformation, including the design of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing solutions
• Experience or awareness of Big Data and Data Science and/or AI technologies, including the integration of Machine Learning models and/or Generative AI components.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing Data & Analytics teams, with a passion for coaching and growing talent.
• Demonstrated leadership within the Data Engineering and AI domain, acting as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client management skills.
