Job summary

Client X in Portugal is seeking a KYC Associate to execute Know Your Customer activities, regulatory reports, and remediation of the branch within the Global Payment team. You will review KYC and EDD, maintain AML knowledge, and support Front Office with compliance guidance while onboarding customers.

Requirements include 1-2 years of experience, a Highschool Diploma, English B2, valid work permit for Portugal/EU, strong communication, and basic knowledge of AML/CFT regulations.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of professional experience.
• Highschool Diploma (12th Grade) or higher.
• English B2 (minimum).
• Own a valid work permit to work in Portugal and/or European Union/Schengen Space citizenship.
• Knowledge of KYC onboarding: name screening, PEP management, customer risk ratings.
• AML/CFT legislation knowledge.
• Experience conducting KYC reviews and onboarding.
• Excellent interpersonal communication with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Execute KYC activities, ad-hoc regulatory reports, and remediation of the branch.
• Identify risks in client lifecycle; propose strategies to mitigate AML risks and reduce lead times.

About The Team

The Global Payment team of Client X provides payment solutions -- including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on Client X platforms.

What You'll Do

• The KYC Associate is accountable for executing the Know Your Customer (KYC) activities, ad-hoc regulatory requirement reports, and remediation's of the branch
• Identify key risks in the current client lifecycle management process and recommend strategies to for future state design to mitigate AML risks while operationalizing efficiency levers and reduce account opening lead times
• Maintain subject matter expertise of applicable anti-money laundering laws and regulations and support Front Office by providing guidance on KYC compliance requirements
• Completion of KYC and EDD
• Conducts initial review of Periodic KYC Reviews

Who We're Looking For

• 1-2 yearsof professional experience
• Highschool Diploma (12th Grade) or higher - mandatory
• English B2 (minimum) - mandatory
• Own a valid work permit to work in Portugal and/or European Union/Schengen Space citizenship - mandatory
• General understanding of cross-border jurisdictional CDD requirements specifically in the e-commerce and banking/payments space
• Experience with the principles of KYC onboarding to include name screening, PEP management, customer risk ratings and CIP
• Base technical knowledge with an understanding of AML/CFT legislation
• Experience conducting KYC reviews and onboarding
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels
