Job summary

Axians is seeking a Junior P&L Controller to join its financial markets team in Lisbon. You will produce, validate, and analyze daily and monthly economic P&L figures and support trading activities through rigorous analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work closely with Front Office and Risk, Finance, Back Office, and IT to identify discrepancies, improve controls, and ensure accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Academic background in Finance, Economics, Management, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Junior-level professional experience or relevant academic exposure to financial markets is welcome.
• Understanding or interest in Financial Markets is valued.

Responsibilities

• Produce and validate official Economic P&L figures and related P&L explanations.
• Analyse market movements, new transactions, and other drivers impacting P&L performance.
• Investigate discrepancies between reported results and Front Office expectations, ensuring issues are fully understood and documented.
• Review risk-based market P&L and assess differences against P&L explanations.
• Perform hedge accounting controls and support Front Office and Finance stakeholders where applicable.
• Submit validated P&L figures for Front Office sign-off.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing controls, processes, and reporting activities.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Risk, Finance, Back Office, and IT teams to ensure effective business support.
