We are currently looking for: Junior DevOps / ELK Engineer Requirements: A Junior Elasticsearch & Observability Engineer role focused on supporting, maintaining, and assisting in the deployment of the Elastic Stack and observability solutions across multi-platform environments (Mainframe, Open Systems, and Container platforms). This role operates as a structured executor within the team, performing routine operational tasks, platform health checks, basic troubleshooting, and supporting application onboarding under guidance. What You'll Do: Assist in maintaining, supporting, and extending Elastic Stack components (Beats, Elastic Agents, Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana). Execute predefined procedures and runbooks for platform health monitoring, routine maintenance, and alert checks across non-production and production environments. Support application teams during onboarding onto the observability platform. Assist in configuring basic monitoring, dashboards, log collection, and alerting. Participate in routine release execution and incident handling under the guidance of senior team members. Follow established coding standards, governance, and CI/CD practices. Document operational activities, updates, and ticket resolutions accurately. Collaborate closely with team members and communicate progress clearly within the team and with stakeholders. Qualifications: University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable technical field (or equivalent initial experience). 0-2 years of hands‑on experience or familiarity with IT environments, logging, and monitoring concepts. Basic understanding of Agile delivery principles and ITIL/incident management processes (is a plus). Foundational knowledge of Operating Systems: Linux and/or Windows basic commands, file systems, and core metrics (CPU, memory, storage). Professional English C1 Level (spoken and written) — mandatory; French and/or Dutch is a plus. Technical Skills: Understanding of core Observability concepts (logs, metrics, traces, golden signals) — mandatory. Exposure to or willingness to learn the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, Elastic Agents) and OpenTelemetry. Basic knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines concepts. Basic understanding of Containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and APIs (REST) is a plus. Foundational awareness of IT Security principles (authentication, access management basics). Basic knowledge of collaboration and ticketing tools: Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, MS Office. Profile & Other Requirements: Strong team collaboration skills in distributed environments — mandatory. Continuous learning mindset and eagerness to grow technical expertise — mandatory. Structured problem‑solving attitude, proactivity, and attention to detail. Ability to follow guidelines, ask clarifying questions, and elevate risks early. Willingness and availability for on‑call support and scheduled overtime activities when required. Must own a valid work permit or EU/Schengen Space nationality to legally work in Portugal. Portugal-based, specifically in Lisbon — hybrid working model (CET alignment required).
