Euronext in Porto is seeking a Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Engineer Trainee to design, build, and maintain scalable analytics solutions. You will transform raw data into actionable insights, develop ETL/ELT pipelines, and create semantic models for analytics.

You will work on dashboards and reports using Power BI, along with Python and R, while collaborating with Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Product teams to translate business needs into robust BI solutions.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or related fields.
• Eligible for an IEFP Level VI Internship.
• Good programming skills; knowledge of python, C#.
• Experience in machine learning model development and evaluation.
• Data wrangling using libraries such as Pandas/Modin, Polars, NumPy.
• Knowledge of multiple databases such as SQLServer, PostgreSQL, DuckDB.
• API-based data ingestion.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, Redshift, SQL Server).
• Hands‑on experience with Power BI (semantic models, DAX, DirectQuery) and ETL/ELT tools (SSIS, ADF, Airflow, dbt, SSIS or similar).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure Foundry (Nice to have).
• Knowledge of data modelling techniques (Kimball, dimensional modelling).
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business needs into data models and KPIs.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Organised, able to manage multiple priorities and share knowledge effectively.
• Fluent in English, with good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Nice to have: experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), Python, DevOps/CI‑CD for BI, data governance frameworks.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in collecting, cleaning, transforming, and validating data from multiple sources.
• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, and business insights.
• Develop and evaluate machine learning models for supervised and unsupervised learning tasks.
• Prepare datasets for statistical analysis and predictive modelling.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in data engineering, analytics, and data science.
• Design and maintain semantic data models (star/snowflake schemas) optimized for analytics and reporting.
• Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines from multiple data sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
• Ensure data quality, consistency and performance across business intelligence solutions.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Python and R.
• Translate business requirements into robust BI solutions and flexible Power BI semantic models.
• Optimize SQL queries, data models and report performance for large-scale datasets, monitoring BI workloads in cloud and on-premises environments.
• Collaborate with business users to understand KPIs, metrics and reporting needs, and partner with Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Product teams.
• Provide guidance and best practices to analysts and report developers.
• Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions and documentation, supporting data lineage and metadata management.
• Ensure compliance with security and privacy requirements.
