Act Digital in Lisbon is seeking a bilingual Java Tech Lead to steer an Agile engineering team delivering high-volume Document Management & Digital Trust solutions. You will mentor developers, shape backend architecture with Java 8+ and REST APIs, and collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to define acceptance criteria.

Ideal candidates have leadership experience, strong Java/REST skills, and fluency in French and English for stakeholder communication.

Qualificações

• Leadership experience as Tech Lead/Lead Developer/Senior Java Developer with mentorship and team coordination.
• Hands-on Java (8+) expertise and experience designing/consuming RESTful APIs.
• Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum and clean software design patterns.
• Fluent in French (B2/C1) and English (B2/C1) for stakeholder communication.
• Nice to have: Document Management (EDM/ECM), digital archiving or electronic signature workflows.

Responsabilidades

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: guide and mentor a team of Java engineers, drive code quality and best practices.
• Architecture & Hands-On Engineering: lead design/development of backend microservices using Java 8+ and scalable REST APIs.
• Product & Business Alignment: partner with Product Owners and Business Analysts to define acceptance criteria and prioritize user stories.
• Delivery & Governance: enforce DoD, ensure documentation, optimize CI/CD and deployment workflows.
• Agile Orchestration: actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, remove roadblocks and manage cross-team dependencies.

At act digital, we are recruiting a bilingual (French & English) Java Tech Lead / Team Leader to join our client's captive tech hub in Lisbon. In this role, you will guide an Agile engineering team building high-volume Document Management & Digital Trust solutions.

What you will do:

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, inspire, and mentor a team of Java engineers, driving code quality, best practices, and validating merge requests.
• Architecture & Hands-On Engineering: Lead the design and development of robust backend microservices using Java (8+) and scalable REST APIs.
• Product & Business Alignment: Partner closely with Product Owners (PO) and Business Analysts (BA) to define acceptance criteria, evaluate technical feasibility, and prioritize User Stories.
• Delivery & Governance: Enforce the Definition of Done (DoD), ensure thorough documentation, and optimize the team's CI/CD and deployment workflows.
• Agile Orchestration: Actively champion and participate in Scrum ceremonies, removing technical roadblocks and identifying cross-team dependencies.

What we are looking for:

• Leadership Experience: Proven experience as a Tech Lead, Lead Developer, or Senior Java Developer with strong mentorship and team coordination capabilities.
• Core Technical Stack: Strong hands‑on expertise in Java (8+) and designing/consuming RESTful APIs.
• Methodology: Deep understanding of Agile / Scrum frameworks and clean software design patterns.
• Languages (Mandatory): Fluent in French (B2/C1) and Fluent in English (B2/C1) for direct stakeholder communication.
• Nice to Have: Background in Document Management (EDM/ECM), digital archiving, electronic signature workflows, or high-volume transactional banking systems.
