MERITIS is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join its Investment Banking team's e-Trading division in Porto, Portugal. In this role, you will design and implement scalable Java applications for trading systems while collaborating closely with trading, operations, and cross-functional teams. You'll also mentor junior developers and stay current with the latest in Java technologies.

We’re seeking a Senior Java Developer to join the Investment Banking team of our client! As a Senior Java Developer in e‑Trading, you’ll be working on critical projects in the financial technology sector, with a focus on performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing robust and scalable Java applications for E‑Trading systems, in the Equities, Rates and Credit, FX and Equity Derivatives space.
• Collaborating with the trading and operations teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Mentoring and guiding junior developers.
• Understanding of design & architecture principles, common data structures and algorithmic complexity.
• Staying up‑to‑date with the latest Java technologies and trends in E‑Trading, with a focus on algorithmic trading platforms.
• Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Identifying and correcting bottlenecks and fixing bugs.
• Helping maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Solid experience in software development, CI/CD, TDD.
• Familiarity with DevOps concepts.
• Source Code Management with Git.
