Job summary

Jobbex.IT in Portugal is seeking a Java Tech Lead to support a key client project. You will design and oversee infrastructure and network solutions, align technical work with client needs, and drive delivery across engineering teams.

Candidates bring 5+ years in infrastructure and network design, strong knowledge of BGP, VLANs, SD-WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and certification like Fortinet NSE or Cisco CCNP. English B2/C1, travel ready.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing, designing and implementing infrastructure and network solutions.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, VLANs, SD-WAN, VPNs, firewalls and LAN/WAN/WLAN environments.
• Fortinet technologies and NSE certifications, or Cisco CCNP/equivalent
• Familiarity with VMware vSphere/vCenter, Citrix CVAD, Veeam, Dell PowerStore, Data Domain and AD DS.
• Experience coordinating infrastructure, systems, networking and security implementation projects.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and incident reports.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.
• English proficiency at B2/C1 level.
• Driving licence and availability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Gather and prioritise client requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications for infrastructure, systems and network teams.
• Assess initial technical feasibility and identify dependencies across domains.
• Act as the main point of contact between clients and Technical Account Managers (TAMs), ensuring clear communication and accurate information transfer.
• Monitor requests, projects, deadlines and contractual SLAs, coordinating communication between clients and technical teams.
• Manage client expectations regarding timelines, technical constraints, risks and service impacts.
• Identify infrastructure risks and optimisation opportunities, document technical decisions and escalat[e] issues requiring management approval.
