We are seeking a skilled Interpreter to join our team in Faro. As an Interpreter you will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient interpretation services for clients in a variety of settings including meetings, conferences and legal proceedings. You must have excellent communication and language skills as well as cultural sensitivity and the ability to work in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate interpretation services for clients
• Interpret spoken or written material from one language to another
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
• Research relevant terminology to ensure accurate interpretation
• Adapt your interpretation style to fit the needs of the client
• Attend meetings, conferences and other events as needed
• Provide sight translation when required
• Ensure all equipment is functioning properly before each assignment
• Take notes and maintain records of interpreted conversations or documents

Requirements

• Fluency in at least two languages including English
• Proven experience as an interpreter or related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends if necessary
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Cultural sensitivity and awareness
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in TranslationInterpretation or related field or equivalent experience
