Are you an experienced internal audit professional looking to take ownership of complex, international assignments within a global organisation?

This is an opportunity to join a progressive internal audit function based in Lisbon, working across a diverse international business. The role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to lead high-impact audits across multiple markets, functions and risk areas.

You’ll operate in an environment that goes beyond traditional assurance, with a strong focus on business insight, value creation, continuous improvement and the effective use of data and technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex, end-to-end audits across international operations, covering financial, operational and compliance risks.
• Take ownership of audit planning, scoping, fieldwork, reporting and follow-up activities.
• Identify key business risks and control weaknesses, translating findings into practical and commercially focused recommendations.
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and confidently present audit findings and recommendations to management.
• Work closely with teams across multiple countries and functions to strengthen governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Use data analytics and digital tools to enhance audit quality, efficiency and insight.
• Contribute to the continued development of audit methodologies, tools and best practices.
• Support, coach and review the work of less experienced members of the audit team.

Key Requirements

• Significant internal audit, external audit, finance or risk experience, ideally gained within a large, complex or multinational organisation.
• Demonstrable experience leading audits independently from planning through to final reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, risk management and governance.
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across different functions and geographies.
• A degree in finance, accounting, business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• A recognised professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CIA or CISA is strongly preferred.
• Previous Big 4 experience would be advantageous.
• Experience with data analytics or visualisation tools such as Tableau or Alteryx would be beneficial.
• Strong analytical, communication and report-writing skills.
• Comfortable working in an international and fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to, and occasionally over, 50% of your time.
