Job summary

Wire IT in Porto, Portugal, seeks a Network Security Engineer to design, implement and maintain security infrastructure including firewalls, WAFs, DNS and VPNs. You will support L2/L3 security/network operations, analyze logs, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure high availability across client environments.

The role favors candidates with Fortinet or Ubika WAF expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and a mindset for learning new technologies within a dynamic, international company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working with security infrastructure solutions (firewalls, WAF, load balancers, DNS).
• Expert-level knowledge in Fortinet firewalls or Ubika WAF preferred.
• Experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, F5 LTM/GTM/APM, Infoblox, or IPS solutions.
• Strong firewall/WAF/load-balancer configuration, deployment, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Experience with DNS and IPS/IDS technologies.
• Level 2 and Level 3 security/network support experience.
• VIP/DMZ/site-to-site VPN/log analysis/tracing familiarity.
• Infrastructure installation, testing, and security device upgrades.
• Ability to design infrastructure for new technologies, capacity planning, and resilience.
• DevOps practices familiarity; Ansible and Python are a plus.
• English B2+; French B2 is an advantage.
