Job summary

DataSmart is seeking a Senior Data Center Network & VMware NSX Engineer to join our Hybrid team in Lisbon (and Madrid as an alternative). You will manage global data center networking and virtualization environments, focusing on NSX-T, VMware NSX, and Cisco ACI, collaborating with international teams across Europe, North America, and Asia.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of experience, strong automation skills with Terraform and Python, and fluency in English (and Portuguese for Lisbon).

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in data center networking.
• Hands-on experience with VMware NSX, especially NSX-T.
• Strong understanding of network architectures between physical and virtual networks.
• Knowledge of Cisco ACI or similar data center networking technologies.
• Experience with VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, and other routing protocols.
• Experience with Terraform and Python for automation.
• English fluency is mandatory; Portuguese fluency required for Lisbon candidates.
• Availability to work onsite at least 2 days per week.
• Good communication and collaboration with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support global data center networking and virtualization environments.
• Operate and maintain Cisco ACI underlay and VMware NSX overlay architectures, focusing on NSX-T.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and integration issues between physical and virtual network layers.
• Work with VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, and other routing protocols.
• Support large-scale data center migration projects across France, Germany, Switzerland, and Singapore.
• Contribute to design, deployment, and operation of standardized data center architectures.
• Automate infrastructure deployments and operational tasks using Terraform and Python.
• Collaborate with distributed technical teams across Europe, North America, and Asia.
• Participate in technical assessments and provide expertise to the relevant technical teams.
