As the global data centre industry continues its rapid expansion, one of JD Ross Energy’s clients is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support complex, mission‑critical data centre build projects specifically focusing on power generation and electrical distribution systems.

This role is ideal for an engineer looking to step beyond traditional local power delivery work and join a fast‑growing, international data centre design specialist. You’ll contribute to cutting‑edge, sustainable facility designs while working within a collaborative and innovative Lisbon engineering hub.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in shaping the electrical and energy distribution strategy for large‑scale greenfield data centre projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing electrical systems, schematics, models and documentation
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Ensuring compliance with relevant electrical standards and project specifications
• Supporting commissioning activities
• Staying up‑to‑date with best practices and emerging technologies in power system design

What We’re Looking For

You will hold a formal qualification in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline, and bring the following experience:

• Practical experience using design tools such as ETAP, EPLAN, Revit
• Strong understanding of electrical standards and redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N)
• Previous work on power distribution or mission‑critical infrastructure projects
• Exposure to HV/MV substations, switchgear configurations and UPS systems
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and strong communication skills
• Capability to manage multiple fast‑paced projects
• Fluency in English (preferred)
