Körber Ag in Portugal seeks a Hardware Engineer to plan and design electrical systems for automation and conveyor technology, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations across projects.

You will support risk assessments and safety analyses, prepare tender documents for suppliers, assist installation activities at sites, and participate in project meetings while carrying responsibility for hardware engineering deliverables.

Qualificações

• Degree in automation engineering or electrical engineering, or technician/master craftsman.
• Experience in automation and knowledge of functional safety for machines and systems.
• Proficiency with machinery directives and relevant standards.

Hardware Engineer

Your role in our team

• You are responsible for planning and design of electrical systems with a focus on automation, safety, and conveyor technology, as well as for supervising and coordinating the necessary services in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
• You are supporting in risk assessments, PL calculations, and customer documentation.
• You are supporting to define tender documents for our suppliers, provide technical support for installation activities at project sites, and monitor their progress until customer acceptance.
• Additional tasks including temporary technical leadership (subproject management for hardware engineering) within project execution, as well as participation in project and construction meetings.

Your profile

• You have successfully completed a degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable field; alternatively, you have completed training as a technician (m/f/d) or master craftsman (m/f/d).
• You bring professional experience in the automation environment and knowledge in the field of functional safety for machines and systems.
• You are proficient in applying machinery directives and relevant standards.
• You have experience with common bus systems such as Ethernet, PROFINET, and PROFIBUS.
• You have experience in electrical design using RUPLAN / EPLAN within sorting and distribution technology (BHS / Parcel).
• English language skills are required for this position.
• You are willing to travel worldwide to support international project execution.
• Teamwork, systematic and structured working methods, strong communication skills, deadline-, cost- and quality-oriented work, as well as a self-reliant approach round off your profile.
