Job summary

simplesurance GmbH is seeking a Golang Software Engineer - Identity & Access Management to build scalable IAM services. You’ll own Go backend components, implement authentication and authorization flows, and integrate providers like Cognito and Keycloak. Team interactions span product, QA, architecture, and partner teams.

You’ll contribute to design, documentation, and operational excellence, while embracing a culture of innovation and learning across Lisbon and Berlin offices.

Qualifications

Backend development in Go with production distributed systems experience.
Strong IAM knowledge: OAuth2, OIDC, SSO, MFA, JWT.
Experience with cloud, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and operate scalable Go backend services for IAM.
Enhance IAM capabilities: authentication, authorization, SSO, MFA, federation.
Integrate identity providers (Cognito, Keycloak) and manage configs.

About The Job

We’re looking for a Golang Software Engineer - Identity & Access Management to join our team and help shape the services that enable secure and seamless access across our platform. In this role, you’ll combine software engineering, identity management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable solutions used by internal and external stakeholders.

As part of our engineering organization, you’ll work closely with Product, QA, Architecture, and other engineering teams to build, improve, and operate critical IAM services. Beyond developing high-quality Go applications, you’ll contribute to system design, identity platform integrations, technical documentation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and operate scalable backend services in Go, owning solutions from design and implementation through deployment and production support.
Build and enhance Identity & Access Management capabilities, including authentication, authorization, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and federation.
Manage and improve identity platform configurations and integrations with identity providers such as Amazon Cognito, Keycloak, and other IAM solutions.
Drive DevOps best practices by contributing to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, monitoring, and the operational reliability of services.
Collaborate closely with Product, QA, Architecture, and external stakeholders to understand requirements, deliver solutions, and continuously improve systems and processes.

Bring to the Team

Strong professional experience developing backend applications in Go and working with distributed systems in production environments.
Deep understanding of Identity & Access Management (IAM) concepts and technologies, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), RBAC, JWT, SSO, MFA, secure token handling, and modern authentication and authorization flows.
Experience with key management and security concepts, including PKI, JWK/JWKS, KMS/HSM, secure token handling, authentication flows, and authorization patterns.
Hands‑on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (preferably AWS), containerization, infrastructure automation, and service operations.
Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, engage with stakeholders, and contribute to software architecture, system integration, and scalable system design.
