Solvay is seeking a Global Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll for Portugal and the UK, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery across a hybrid setup. You’ll collaborate with local HR, Finance, external providers, and the GBS organization to maintain compliance and quality.

The role requires knowledge of Portuguese and UK payroll laws, tax rules, and payroll documentation; strong numerical and analytical skills are essential, with a proactive approach to staying current on regulations.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Experience with payroll documentation, process maps and SOPs.
• Experience supporting internal and external audits with documentation.

About the role

Our Payroll Operations & Service Delivery team, composed of payroll professionals across multiple countries, is integrated in the Human Resources Service Line and focuses on delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services in collaboration with local HR teams, Finance, external payroll providers, and Solvay's Global Business Services (GBS) organization. As a Global Payroll Specialist you'll manage end-to-end payroll processing for Portugal, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery.

You will be accountable for:

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for UK and Portugal, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery
• Validate payroll inputs, calculations, taxes, social security contributions, and statutory payments
• Perform payroll reconciliations and controls to ensure data accuracy and compliance
• Ensure timely submission of all payroll-related statutory filings and reporting requirements
• Provide payroll expertise to employees, managers, HR, Finance, and other stakeholders
• Support HR processes related to hiring, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, and benefits

We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid working mode (2 days a week if you are from the Lisbon metropolitan area or 2 days a month if you live outside the Lisbon metropolitan area).

About you

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills, with a willingness to learn payroll processes, systems, and legislation.

Competencies:

• Experience in Portuguese and UK labor law, tax legislation, social security regulations, and company policies
• Stay informed about legislative changes and assess their impact on payroll processes
• Experience in supporting internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as required
• Experience with payroll documentation, process maps, and standard operating procedures
• Knowledge in payroll reports and reconciliations

About the pay

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is €27,090 EUR to €31,050 per year in Portugal. Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
