Job summary

MAHLE in Murtede (Portugal) is seeking a Global OT Security Engineer to strengthen cyber defenses across our production sites worldwide. You will define strategy, roadmaps and target architecture for OT security.

You will lead programs such as IEC 62443 implementation, risk assessments, and governance, acting as Product Owner for monitoring, remote access and asset visibility, while collaborating with plants and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant technical field.
• 5+ years in OT security or related projects.
• Experience with IEC 62443 / NIST / ISO 2700x frameworks.
• Experience in ICS/SCADA/PLC environments.
• Proven international project management experience.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the global OT security strategy, roadmap and target architecture.

• Lead global OT security programs incl. IEC 62443, segmentation and zero trust.
• Manage international projects: planning, budgeting and stakeholder alignment.

• Evaluate, select and rollout OT security technologies across sites.
• Advise plants and engineering teams on OT security topics and risk mitigation.
• Ensure consistent implementation of security standards across all sites.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits and compliance activities.
• Support incident response and improve OT cyber resilience.
• Drive security-by-design in Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Monitor trends and threats in OT and IIoT environments.

We're hiring: Global OT Security Engineer. Our team in Murtede is growing, and we're looking for a talented Global OT Security Engineer to support and enhance OT cybersecurity across our global production facilities.

Your Contribution

• Define and drive the global OT security strategy, roadmap, and target architecture.
• Establish and maintain global OT security standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
• Lead global OT security programs and initiatives (e.g., IEC 62443 implementation, network segmentation, zero trust concepts).
• Manage international projects including planning, prioritization, budgeting, and stakeholder alignment.
• Act as Product Owner for key OT security solutions (e.g., monitoring, remote access, asset visibility).
• Evaluate, select, and roll out OT security technologies across global production sites.
• Advise plants, engineering teams, and senior stakeholders on OT security topics and risk mitigation.
• Ensure consistent implementation of global security standards across all sites.
• Conduct and coordinate risk assessments, audits, and compliance activities.
• Support incident response and contribute to improving OT cyber resilience.
• Drive security-by-design in digitalization and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Monitor technology trends and emerging threats in OT and IIoT environments.

Your Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or comparable qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in OT Security, Industrial Cyber Security or related projects.
• Strong knowledge of OT security standards and frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST CSF, ISO 2700x).
• Experience with industrial environments (ICS/SCADA/PLC systems).
• Proven experience in international project or program management.
• Solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies.
• Knowledge of IT/OT convergence, IIoT, and IT/OT network infrastructure.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Initiative and ability to work in complex, global environments.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
