Job summary

Mystic Cruises is seeking a Fleet Public Health Officer to lead the public health, sanitation and food safety programme across the fleet. The role travels regularly to vessels and shoreside offices to ensure compliance with international, national and local health standards.

Responsibilities include developing fleet procedures, coaching shipboard teams, coordinating audits, and ensuring readiness for inspections.

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental health or related field.
• Substantial public health or sanitation experience on cruise ships or complex passenger vessels.
• Strong knowledge of CDC Vessel Sanitation Program and HACCP principles.
• Ability to design, deliver training, lead audits and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet public health, sanitation and food safety programmes across all ships.
• Interpret updates into shipboard procedures, checklists and training.
• Plan and conduct internal audits, readiness reviews and mock inspections.
• Provide oversight for water safety plans and outbreak prevention.
• Coordinate with multiple departments to implement health risk controls.
