Job summary

Cloudflare in Lisbon and London seeks a seasoned Data Center Operations Engineer to maintain and optimize our global network infrastructure. You will work with SRE, Network Engineering and deployment teams, ensure 24x7 availability, and drive automation using AI tools and scripting to improve reliability.

The role requires deep DC/Networking knowledge, hands-on experience with Juniper, Cisco and DWDM gear, and strong project management skills to coordinate remote contractors and cross-region

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years experience in Linux systems administration.
• Experience managing and instructing remote contractors.
• Familiarity with data center operations and network infrastructure.
• Comfortable with program management tasks (JIRA, planning, scheduling).
• Experience with automation and operational processes in a rapid-change environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Network Engineering and SRE teams to support 330+ cities and 125+ countries.
• Maintain Data Center environment availability.
• Leverage AI tools to automate repetitive tasks, document, and speed up troubleshooting.
• Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, MOPs etc.
• Support and configure network infrastructure where required.
• Provide feedback to internal teams and vendor partnerships.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation to maintain 24×7 operations.
