Job summary

Clan is seeking a General Accounting & Reporting Specialist to join our Global Business Services (GBS) organization in Porto. You will deliver Record-to-Report activities across multiple entities and countries, ensuring accurate accounting and timely close.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, fixed asset management, reporting for management and statutory needs, and supporting audits. Required IFRS/local GAAP knowledge, SAP experience (S/4HANA a plus), advanced Excel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in General Accounting, Record-to-Report (R2R), or Financial Reporting.
• Strong GL, reconciliations, and period-end close activities.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting and reporting processes.
• IFRS/local GAAP knowledge and compliance requirements.
• SAP expertise; SAP S/4HANA is advantageous.
• Advanced Excel and finance systems skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-, quarter-, and year-end close activities including GL closing/reopening procedures.
• Post, review, and reverse journal entries, accruals, provisions, allocations, and other accounting adjustments.
• Perform recurring and high-volume accounting activities with accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, resolve items, and maintain data integrity.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset creation, depreciation, and reporting.
• Prepare financial reports and adjustments for management and statutory reporting.
• Perform budget uploads and maintain data within the ERP system.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and timely responses.
• Collaborate with Finance, Tax, Treasury and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to standardization, automation, and continuous improvement of R2R processes.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering Record-to-Report (R2R) activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial accounting, fixed asset management, period-end close processes, financial reporting, and account reconciliations across multiple legal entities and countries.

• Execute and coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including General Ledger (GL) closing/reopening procedures and close sign-off.
• Prepare, post, review, and reverse journal entries, accruals, provisions, allocations, and other accounting adjustments.
• Perform recurring and high-volume accounting activities while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in General Accounting, Record-to-Report (R2R), or Financial Reporting environments.
• Solid understanding of General Ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and period-end close activities.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting and financial reporting processes.
• Knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, financial controls, audit requirements, and compliance frameworks.
• Strong experience with SAP; exposure to SAP S/4HANA is considered an advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
• Previous experience within a Shared Services Centre (SSC) or Global Business Services (GBS) environment is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and international teams.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
